DIAP recognised as an entry qualification at the University of Nairobi

We are very pleased to inform all parents that with immediate effect, students graduating from the German School Nairobi with a DIAP qualification may apply to the University of Nairobi for their undergraduate degrees. As long as the students have fulfilled the entrance requirements for the course they want to study (detailed on the University of Nairobi website)*, and are proficient in the English language, they may study at the UoN.

*(Below is a table equating the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination grades to the DIAP grades.)

A delegation comprising of the school management, scholarship-co-ordinators, members from the German Embassy and from the German Academic Education Service (DAAD), as well as the director of the British Institute in Kenya met with Professor Waweru, the Registrar of Academics at the University.

Professor Waweru confirmed that his institution will recognise the qualification with immediate effect for students to join the Parallel Programme (for private students), and furthermore, he would discuss the matter with KNEC (Kenya National Examinations Council) and the Committee of Vice-Chancellors in Kenya, to try and get the qualification recognised nationally, so that our students may study at any of the universities in Kenya.

We sincerely thank Mr David Kitur, our scholarship parents' representative for facilitating this process for us.
