Athletic Games - Bundesjugendspiele 2015

Kindly find pictures from this exciting day in our photo gallery.

On the 8th of October, the annual Sports Day at the German School took place. All children from Class 1-12 got the opportunity to prove themselves. After an extensive warm-up and stretching session, led by Luke Mbithi of Class 12, the students of Class 11 tried to do their best in the sprints, long distance runs, long jump and throws.

The event came to an amazing end with the relays, in which not only the students, but also the parents, teachers and staff took part in. Although the adults fought bravely, the students' team emerged victorious.

The two students, who were exceptional, are Melanie and Clinton of Class 11, who were awarded certificates for being the best girl and best boy in the school. Their class proved to be equally outstanding as they were the best relay team of the school.

Karate Tournament - 14.03.2015

Read here reports from our small participants.

More pictures in our photo gallery.

The Karate tournament

I am Lucas from Class 4. I am in karate team B. At the end of the tournament on March 14, we had two trophies. I think that is great! But the best thing is that also got medals. With the kata, we got 1st, 2nd 3rd an 4th places. In the team sparring, we came 2nd.

Next time, I’m sure we will win all the prizes!

Lucas Graham

My Karate tournament

Today was my karate tournament at 11:30 a.m. I was very excited. But when the tournament started everything was o.k. again. We, meaning Micah, Lucas and myself, were Team DSN B and had to wait very long because the smaller boys were first. We had to wait 1h and 30 min until it was finally our turn. I did not really enjoy that. But when finally it was our turn, I was highly motivated. Unfortunately I lost my first competition (Kata). But the second competition was better and I won, as I did in the third competition. That way I was third in ranking for the individual Kata. Doing Kumite I won twice and lost once getting our team into the finals. In the finals we made second place. At the final ceremony Lucas got a silver medal and Micah and I got a gold medal. As a team we got two trophies and three medals.

The Karate Tournament

On the 14th of March 2015 Dominic, Lucas, Kian, Wani, Lisa, Milan, Julien and I participated in a Karate tournament. As the karate team, we managed to land the 1st, 2nd, 3rdand 4th positions. The other students were also very good, just not as good as we were!
