Higher Education and Careers Guidance at the German School Nairobi

Consultation hour GSN Academic and Careers Advisor

Mrs. Dörte Fixsen-Zahn

on Wednesdays, 2nd lesson 08:35 AM - 09:20 AM

It is important to us that our students have the ability to make conscious and competent decisions regarding their higher education and career choices.

Our goal is to give the students of the German School Nairobi the chance to have concrete career aspirations, to be able to recognise their strengths, weaknesses and abilities, to inform them about higher education possibilities, as well as give them the chance to gain practical experience in the world of work.

The GSN therefore offers its students several opportunities for careers guidance.

The current careers guidance and preparation concept is made of three parts:

  1. Allowing students to get practical experience in the world of work
  2. Organisation of events that will provide careers' guidance
  3. Individual Careers' counselling of students on higher education and career perspectives.

On the information board in the corridor of the Upper Secondary classrooms, there is updated information which is of interest to the students in terms of careers and university guidance. Additionally, here are links where you can download the following publications and useful addresses.
